Solubility of caesium oxide and zirconium oxide into iron-phosphate glass was investigated, and the properties, micro- and atomic structures were analyzed. CrO-CoO-AlO-FeO-PO glass system has been developed for the glass matrix with high chemical durability and high loading capacity of high-level radioactive wastes, especially from the pyrochemical processing system. Encapsulation of more than 35 outer mass% of HLW oxides have been achieved in the laboratory scale melting, and it also attains much higher chemical durability than that of borosilicate glass system. In this work, we give our focus on the potential of the immobilization of CsO and ZrO in this glass system.
